Easter at Hillsong

Hillsong is having their Easter celebration on Sunday at Qantas Credit Union Arena (the same place as Colour conference). This year they are doing a big production and Easter presentation with only students involved. Petter and I have had the privilege to be part of the key ensemble, which means we are part of the main crowd on stage. That involves going through many different emotions in less then half an hour, from really joyful to extremely angry and even sad. The last rehearsals have been quite intense and moving. To see Jesus be up on the cross right in front of you, just after you have screamed that they should crucify him, and he says: "Father forgive them, cause they do not know what they are doing" has left me a bit shaken inside. To see how they lay his dead body right in front of you and his mother is crying her eyes out, is rather uncomfortable. But the message of Jesus Christ has like never before been so upfront with me and I have been reminded in a new way of his pain, shame, faithfulness, boldness, resilience, love and grace. Cause yes, he died for me. He died for us.

Even if it has taken a lot of time with all rehearsals out at the Hills campus (one hour away from the city campus) it has been such a fun and great learning experience to be part of this. And I know it will be all worth it tomorrow night, when we get to stand in front of 10 000 people (say what?) and many of those will find His love.

Happy Easter!
